360 samples per second through OPC link

Ates Posts: 198 Rating: (17)	1000 ms / 360 = 3 ms .. i think this is too fast for.. if you want this data this fast, maybe you can use a pn cpu with small 1ms process time with high bandwith pn network.. in normal conditions a cycle of cpu takes long then that time so sending that data even if you can send via obs is very unnecesary by any meaning. if you want get that data from wincc to other station its again not necessary bcoz a data in wincc cant be changed that fast.. if you want to get 360 different data in a second (which i dont understand this from your phrase) yes i think that can be possible

We had a system here (but with another SCADA software) where a custom-built VB program would gather the data and log it onto a database, but it still had a 100ms log time... What exactly do you need that data for? Does anyone know if one of the WinCC's options could help out with this? Best regards, Danielle

If it's the latter then it's easy, if it's the former then it's tricky and maybe not possible. There was mention a while ago that the WinCC OLEDB Provider would have the ability to write as well as read to the database (hence the TAG:R for read currently). I don't know if this is available yet but may be worth chasing up. Another option is to use the ODK function to insert data into the Tag Logging database. Not ideal and would require an intermediate loading area and a lot of scripting. Finally if the controller is an S7 then you can send the data from the PLC to WinCC. Then there are possibilities to store/exchange the wave capture with WinCC. The fastest WinCC tlgAcyclic archive speed you can getis 100 ms due to S7 mincyclic comm service. Using AR_SEND is expensive as far as storing data into SQL (although with respect to "high performance compression algorithm" 517),in tlg compressed archive each value comes with time-stamp and quality). I tested AR_SEND @ 100ms mode 9 and I had 35s (350 samples) per db record (2048 byte varbinary compressed). Dec
