4 wire transmitter configuration with 2 wire AI module.

Hello everybody,

                I have an analog input module(4 AI | 2 wire ST) (6ES7 134 4GD00 0AB0) with IM 151-8 PN/DP (6ES7 151-8AB01-0AB0) CPU. I can access my PLC with TIA portal V13.

               My problem is that i want to wire/configure this AI module with a 4 wire transmitter, i don't know that even it's possible or not. If possible, than please provide me a proper solution about it.

No not possible. Module is meant for 2 wire AI interface.

yes possible,

but  there are both devices are active so you should use isolating barrier between transmitter and Al module,

One of the solutions is to use AI 4-20 mA signal isolator whose input can be for 4 wire transmitters and output for 2 wire modules

In two wire module, one terminal having +24VDC and another is sink terminal to which you can connect the positive terminal of 4 wire transmitter. another terminal of 4 wire transmitter will connect to M terminal of PLC.

 would you explain properly with use of chart ,

( wrong wiring may damage your module or transmitter )

Dear bro,

Don't fear to fault in module because it just like a use of source meter for a two wire module.

Source meter like a four wire transmitter and basically for getting a analoge value in two wire module is to make close circuit, so for it we are using a 24 vdc of module for a power up a transmitter, but in case of 4 wire transmitter  no need to give a 24vdc if it is already power up.

just connect two wire of 4 wire transmitter to plc.

(+ of Tx) ----- ( negative of module)

(- of Tx) ------ (M point of module or M point o PLC.)

if Tx is not power up then take a 24 vdc from SMPS separately.
