munarza Posts: 30 Rating: (1)	hi all, we have a sinumerik 840d control and it gives an error "4065 buffered memory was restored from backup medium ( potential loss of data )." in addition to this error , "NCK battery critical level error" also appears. but i know that the battery is ok because it is new ( i replaced with a new one for test ) and the nothing has changed in the control. the control gives this error message ervery startup. what can i do, what might be cause of this error.

TSH Posts: 73 Rating: (2)	Sorry if this is a silly question but are you changing the correct battery? The batterycausing this in the electrical cabinet on a small plug-in circuit board with a fan. A similar battery is used in the MMC/PCU which will not cause this alarm. Regards

munarza Posts: 30 Rating: (1)	sorry men, i did not mentioned that this is a pcu50 and the battery alarm disappears when reset. i replaced the only battery that i can see inside the pcu ( a green one )

Regards TSH is correct, The battery youneed to change is on a tray in the NCU (rack). Part number is 6FC5 247-0AA06-0AA0. You want tochange this soon before it runs out.

You want tochange this soon before it runs out. in this machine, pcu50 runs all axes via ADI4. this means that all axis are analog. there is no ncu in the electrical cabinet. we have just a pcu , an adi4 and digital I/O boards in electrical cabinet. so i replaced the battery in pcu50.

It's from "Manual 840Di" page 122 1. If the MCI board is detected defective during the power-up of the SINUMERIK 840Di, the last SRAM image is kept when shutting down Windows XP. After the MCI board has been changed, proceed as described above. 2. If the MCI board is changed due to a supposed or an actual error (in the case of suspected errors, sporadic errors, etc.), we recommend starting up the SINUMERIK 840Di-NC and PLC; otherwise, data errors could be taken over from the SRAM image.
