Hello Mahmoud Both are CPU928 ( Or 928A as sometimes called ). The -3UA21 CPU is the newer variant of -3UA12. Both can be used in S5 135U / S5155U Racks. The Major difference is that-3UA21 Module already hasRAM built in, you need to plug in a Memory card only if you require an EPROM. However -3UA12 CPU Must always have a RAM / EPROM module plugged in for operation Another difference between the two is that -3UA12 CPU Occupies Two Slots while -3UA21 CPU occupies only one slot. ( So if the slot on the RIght side of the CPU is already free then its good, otherwise you need to shift the module in this slot ) There are other sublte differences ( Check out this Update ) .. the program execution in -3UA21 is about 10% faster. You can use the -3UA12 CPU in most cases to replace the -3UA21 in most cases if you take care of the above points I have also attached with this post an Extract from the S5-135U Manual giving details of both CPUs Hope this helps Cheers Navnag AttachmentCPU_928A.pdf (396 Downloads) |

Hello Semantic Just a silly question ...Have you"Burned" the EPROM with the PLC Program ? Did you have a Memory card plugged into the -3UA21 CPU ? If yes, then you rean simply read the program from the Memory card and Write to the EPROM using an EPROMMER. Ifthe -3UA21 CPU was working only with the internal RAM, then sometimes you need to modify the program to Copy the Data Blockss whose values are required to be changed by the PLC program to to CPU RAM when the CPU isfirst powered up ( Using OB 254 / OB 255 ). Please See the CPU 928A Manual Section 6.4.5 for details. Hope this helps Cheers Navnag |

Hello, first you must find why the PLC is in STOP-mode. Use BSTACK & USTACK. The program is inside the PLC? The first choice to change to other PLC-type is 928-3UB21, not 928-3UA12. Where are you come from? Regards André Räppel --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- www.raeppel.de

Dear Navnag Yes, I have burned the EPROM from my PG as i have the Souce S5 File . and the old Cpu -3UA21 has a memory module (flash) 256Kb but actually they work without it and work from internal RAM So back to my problem " i think that i have a problem in PS(6ES5 955 3LC14) may be this P.S doesn't compatable with this CPU or have a fault , So i will do some Tests on the PS to make sure that its work fine. Hello, i mean the problems you can get because the 3UA12 is "older" than the 3UA21. What is when you make overall reset without EPROM? Can you go to RUN-mode? Regards André Räppel --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- www.raeppel.de
