7KF02 External compensation box

Hi all,

we are using S7-300 7KF02 analogue input cards with K type thermocouples. 

In manual, there is so called compensation box, which is listed as M72166-xxxx Siemens device. It looks like Siemens discontinued this box and now we are in big troubles.

What kind of signal should I connect to COMP+ / Mana inputs on the card to be able to use external compensation? If I use simple PT100, the difference is too big, about 30 degC. With internal compensation and linked out COMP+ with Mana, the temperature reading is correct.

We have about 74x24 (1800) thermocouples connected to our system and they are far away from control cabinet, so using compensation extension cable (without creating cold junction in the field is no go for us).

Is there direct replacement for Siemens compensating box M72166?

 Thanks, but I have been in contact with local Siemens support (Brazil) and they don´t even know what is compensating box. He suggested to connect PT100 for each thermocouple and recalculate the value in software. That means another few hundreds of sensors. But I will try to fire support request anyway.
