802Dsl: problems with saving data to a network drive

famasa Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello all: need help with one of my machines with Sinumerik 802 Dsl Pro control. I was able to establish connection with the machine via RCS802 program and also was able to save files into the NC program folder. However, I am trying now to do the oposite, where I save (push) a program from the NC to a shared folder inside the PC. The problem is that when I am in the RCS connections, the option to "open" the drive (which corresponds to the PC) is grayed out. I did the following tasks: (1) disable my windows xp firewall (2) registered the IP address and shared folder of my PC in RCS Connections. I am still not able to establish the connection from my NC to view files in my laptop. Please help,

The NC wants to access to the folder in the PC over the network, butI am afraid that the NC is not a known user in the PC. Look to the security properties of the folder. Like explained here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/security/learnmore/accesscontrol.mspx or here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308419 Settings depends on following points: - is the computer in a domain or a workgroup - is simplified or advanced sharing activated I am not sure, but may be you have to activate the user "guest" andadd the user "guest" to the accounts allowed to access the folder. Pay attention that doing that gives acces to the folder by anyone.

It turned out to be a cabling issue inside the machine and also case sensitivity of the user information when you share folers in your RCS 802 program. Many thanks to both of you. It was really helpful info.
