810 software reload

kedwaven Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi everyone I have been having trouble with a chiron FZ12S milling machine with a 810M GA1 control. After running a short amount of time sometimes only 2 minutes the control locks up. Siemens have put this down to software corruption so im trying to reload software. I have no problems loading tea1 and tea2 but when i go to load pcp i start getting trouble. Upon transfer DIO and PCP are visible on screen but after pcin has went through 2 lines of code these dissappear and pcin stops. In the alarms i get DATA FORMAT ERROR which siemens believes means my data is corrupt. However and theres always a however with siemens controls if i increase the baud rate it gets about 5 lines of code in. I also have the S5D file which i believe is the PCP file but in different format. Upon trying to load this with step5 i get a message box up saying memory full would i like to compress , after pressing yes i get error FUNCTION IDENTIFIER IN IF UNKNOWN. I am in initial clear mode when im trying to load these. We have checked the fans on control and they are working fine so i dont think overheating is the cause of the lock up. Any help or pointers greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Derek

One way out of it if you have an S5D file then open siemens step5 sofware set parameter for PLC 5010 0000 0100 and baudrate 9600 Use same cable used for RS232 (TEA1,TEA2) Go online and transfer pc to plc Another simply way to load PLC If PLC EPROM is there then set bit 3 of para 5019 ncmd to load plc prg from eprom. Check correct bit from manual set up end or off/on OK

My step 5 file only contains fb1 no other blocks. dont know why, it was already on floppy when i got m/c. i get errors when i try to transfer it over UNKNOWN IF IDENTIFIER or something like that. Is the plc program on eprom the full program or just the standard plc program which i have the option to load while in initial clear mode under the plc-initial softkey. I cant find any reference to md5019 in any of my manuals but i will try it in morning when i get to work it cant leave me any worse off than i am at moment. Thanks for responding Derek

kedwaven Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Have managed to resolve this problem today the reason it wouldnt take the s5d file is because the 150s plc only has standard memory of 1kb and my s5d file is 1.7kb. after changing a ncdata bit to increase memory it took the file no problem. After m/c was running it started locking up again so i changed the cpu board putting my original 2 eproms in replacement board as the numbers on eproms were different. Reloaded all software again and m/c is running sweet again

Always EPROM in system contains th eOEM program not standard program, standard NC PLC md are there but not standard plc program in810 ga1 2 3 It is available on newer controls best wishes
