840D sinumerik radius/ diameter problem

mcdon Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, We are having a problem with defining radial or diameter on the offset,when an offset is input of say 1.0mm it is altering the diameter by 2.0mm.I have checked nc programs and everything seems ok to me although i am unsure how this is altered, ie m code,g code or parameter. Help would be greatly appreciated

mcdon Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thanks for the reply,if you look in the attached file you will see that we have 'DIAMON'in the early part of the program along with G18 but we still have the problem. We are running two spindles side by side the left side is ok the right side is nok even though the programs are identical.I can only imagine that this is maybe a parameter fault? makaveli Posts: 259 Rating: (5)	So you must check this parameter: MD 20360: $MC_TOOL_PARAMETER_DEF_MASK, Bit 0 is used to activate the calculation of the wear value for the transverse axis as a diameter value. What value you have in first channel and what you have in second ? I hope that I help a little.

This is the standard behaviour. the wear will calculated in "Radius". You can adjust this property by MD 20360 TOOL_PARAMETER_DEF_MASK (bit coded): Bit0 = TRUE: the wear of turning and grinding tools in the DIAMETER-axis will calulatedas andiameter.
