Hello, insome fewwords PZD is sending and readingthe data continuos, needed for operation of a drive viea field bus communication. This happens cyclic. E.g.: from PLC to drive power on / of, speed setpoint, or from drive to PLC actual speed, actual current statu sword. PKW is used acyclic data communication (lets say on demand), for example reading the actual fault code or writing a parameter with an other value. The following description is a little bit older, but it gives a good set up: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/30566350 |

Hello nandgate; Chapter 3 of the following manual explains quite well the difference in the data areas PKW (parameter value) and PZD (process data) when communicating with a Micromaster MM4 drive: Operating Instructions: MICROMASTER PROFIBUS Optional Board |
