schreyer Posts: 65 Rating: (3)	Hi All, I need to create a diagnostic window and each devicehave its own.Inside this window consist of serveral signals like trip signal, overload signal, communication failure,timestamp, the device's name, date and etc... On top of that, 20 records of the sets of signals for each device have to be stored. So later on, the same set ofsignals can be called upon to display on the faceplate popout. So the tricky thing is this, i've got only one set of tags storing these signals. So on wincc i have to capture these signals and store it somewhere else, 20 records for each device. Does anyone know how to do it? Hope i had describethe problemwell enough for you all to help me. Regards Schreyer

I presonally has not try it before, but based on the manual, it's a customise Database which allows you to create your own field of data to be capture, e.g: Date, Time, ID nos, Description, IO tag. As for the putting the archived information back on your faceplate, i would suggest the following methods; [1] A trigger tag to WRITE to database, (e.g: Device name change -> entire information to be written into your database). By doing this, you will have unique ID nos in the database [2] On your faceplate, use the unique ID nos as the reference to put all your filed information via SQL + C script . (e.g: your HMI-IO text will be dynamic which with respect to the ID number you are reading from the Database) Hope that I didn't confuse you instead![:blush:] [:o] Anyone who has hand-on experience on this area? I have no experience with SQL scripting and i also dunno how to go about coming it with C scripting. Do you have any example of the SQL+C scripts that can do this?? Thanks and Regards Schreyer

There are lots ofexamples of scripting access to a User Archive here. Have a try and just post here if you have any follow up questions. Salma

This is done by comparing a certain value in my cells then fill in the blanks accordingly. But i have to make use of VB to do this, so here are a few scripting questions which i need to ask you all. 1. When using C-Script, i can create global functions scripts which can be called up in my graphics as and when i need it. How to do it using VB scripts? 2. How to call up the function through an event for example a mouse click? 3. After doing the above i need to pass a tagname from the graphics to the global function through an event for example a mouse click. How do i it? 4. In C-Script, there is conditions statements like "if....else if.....else.." Is it possible to do it in VB? How? Regards Schreyer
