Its same as our Siemens drives You have to add GSD to hardware, define address and all First word you will send will be control word, second will be speed reference First word you will receive will be status word, second will be speed feedback I hope this is what you wanted to know Regards, Devesh Vithani

UMENCHO Diamond Member Joined: 3/21/2006 Last visit: 10/4/2024 Posts: 10229 Rating: (1181)	On Monday will attach a simple project (working) with basic settings in Step7 and DriveMonitor...in Step7 is nothing special just using L and T commands in order to read/write corresponding addresses acording hardware configuration. In DriveMonitor which the parameters are assigned in order to read statuses and feedback signals (current, torque, voltage, speed) and write a control words (start, stop, speed setpoints). I know how to handle status and controlword but I am asking myself, if I can use my blocks for other ProfiDrive units (i.e. MM440). That measn, is it sure that controlbit seuqence and feedbacksignals are exact the same if I have different ProfiDrive moduls? May be, but I dont trust in that...

(Sorry, I dont use this hardware until know, so I dont know) If you do not mind, please give me the parameters also as PDF - printing?

No those bit pattern will be some different You need to see manual I will try findout exact manual as i have ACS800 manual only And ABB software is called Drive window. To connect it with PC, you will need one card - NDPA which can be installed in PCI slot. You can connect drive window using this hardware by use of FO cable Regards, Devesh

(The old software is called DriveMonitor which is valid for ACS800, ACS600, ACS450..).(It is possible to migrate the parameters from ACS800 to ACS880). And, of course like all new software you can use USB connection between drive and PC. FO connection cable with PCMCIA card is not useful in case of ACS880. In case of ACS800 that kind of connection is OK. To give you more info about application - it is keeping the water lavel in limits. There a tank with two pumps which are controled by two ACS880. According to the level there is changing the reference speed. (One pump is working, the other is on stanby). Until now there are no serious problems with drives. According to me the new ACS880 drives are more sensitive to the input power supply line. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Is it free or licensed?

Is it free or licensed? Like in other software Pro version of Drive Composer is licensed. ACS880 is a new generation of ABB drive. And the hardware there is completely different. Even in dimensions the new ACS880 is very compact, at least two times smaller. The new software is not possible to use with ACS800 the meaning of online connection with drives. But backup file of ACS800 is possible to 'migrate' there. Finel confirmation on Monday. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Well thats really impressing because ACS800 inverter modules are already much compact than others For example, 510KVA siemens make Sinamics is double than ACS800 INVERTER module R8i(DC-AC), and if ACS880 is even compact than this, that will be amazing to see it for me
