If you use HSC with PTO, then the HSC only counts the pulse coming from the PTO-Output. You can't connect external sensor or something like that. If you want to count external pulses, then use HSC as single phase or what ever you need. In manual at chapter 6.1.3.3 (Page 107) you will find detailed information. regards

If you configure the PTO, you don't have to configure the HSC manualy, because it is implicit. I know that is obvius, but did you have donwload the HW configuration (in doubt download the entire sw with "Online"-> "Extended Download to device...")? Can you see the PTO working (outputs or watch table)?

DeatHWilL Posts: 31 Rating: (0)	Hi Pegaia, I do as follow: 1.configure an Axis object,use Pulse_2 2.configure HSC_1 for counting,A/B 1x (i have a incremental encoder) 3.program in Main OB 4.download project by "Download to device" --> "All" 5.Monitor HSC_1&HSC_2 from ID1000&ID1004 in watch table,only HSC_1 change,HSC_2 remain 0 6.PTO works well,i can drive a step motor

However I suggest divide the problem im small parts: 1 - Just configure a PTO on Device Configuration. Automaticaly, the HSC1 should be enabled and its type of counting should be set to " Axis of motion " 2 - Write in QDxxxx the value and observe if the output runs. 3 - Observe the respective ID of the HSC to show if changes too.

DeatHWilL Posts: 31 Rating: (0)	Hi Pegaia, It seems can not control PTO with directly input value to QDxxxx.Cause QDxxxx only can be configured in PWM mode.PTO seems only can be controlled by motion instruction.

In your case it seems to be HSC2, because of using Pulse_2. I'm still the opinion, that if working with motion instructions (and I think you do that), you don't have access to HSC ID directly. Only with motion instructions. You'll find actual counter value in variable "MotionStatus.Position" of Axis-DB. The unit of this value depends on the unit you define in axis configuration (mm, pulses, degrees,...) Maybe have a look to this configuration example to determine if we maybe talk from different things. Controlled positioning with S7-1200 via pulse/direction interface (CE-X7)

Tag of technology object: <Axis name>.MotionStatus.Position: The "Current position" field indicates the current axis position. If the axis is not homed, the value indicates the position value relative to the enable position of the axis. Tag of technology object: <Axis name>.MotionStatus.Velocity : The "Current velocity" field indicates the actual axis velocity.
