michael jie Regular Member Joined: 3/20/2017 Last visit: 1/14/2021 Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Hi All, I'm planning to buy Siemens Absolute Encoder 6FX2001-5WP12, to be installed in Coating Machine that use CPU 315-2DP.. I never use 6FX2001-5WP12 before.. My question is: -. 6FX2001-5WP12 baudrate is 12Mbps, can I change it to 1.5Mbps? Is there any setting profibus baudrate in this 6FX2001-5WP12?( Because in my existing application use profibus 1.5Mbps in its network, this 6FX2001-5WP12 is the new additional item to be insert in the existing application).. -. Does anyone have the manual of this 6FX2001-5WP12 about how to do configuration in the encoder, in hardware configuration at Simatic Manager, control and status word, etc.. The master is sending parametrization-telegrammes to the slaves. Then the slaves know what baudrate is used in the network. Due to the manual the encoder supports all common baudrates. Absolute Value Encoder with PROFIBUS-DP FS 17 (or higher) hope this helps, regards,

So I just need to configure via hardware config Simatic Manager, then 6FX2001-5WP12 could automatically adjust to 1.5Mbps(existing network baudrate), is it correct? One other question: 6FX2001-5WP12 use Profibus DP-V2, CPU of our machine is 6ES7315-2AG10-0AB0 which use Profibus DP-V1. Could CPU reads data from this Absolute Encoder automatically or do I have to do some configuration changes to make the communication works. Thank you. Best Regards, Michael Jie
