ABSOLUTE ENCODER POSITION LOST, NEED HELP PLEASE

Balu_M Posts: 69 Rating: (1)	DEAR SIR, I AM USING ABSOLUTE ROTARY ENCODER (MAKE:HEIDENHAIN) FOR Z AXIS IN SIEMENS 840D SYSTEM.REFERENCE SYSBOL SHOWING AND PARAMETER 34210 SHOWING 2. BUT AFTER POWER ON AND OFF, MACHINE VALVE SET TO ZERO REFERENCE LOST. HERE WITH I ATTACHED NC.ARC FILE PLEASE KINDLY HELP ME TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I can't able to unzip your file, so please check the below parameter ( Parameter for External encoder ) 30240 $MA_ENC_TYPE =4 34200 $MA_ENC_REFP_MODE =0 34210 $MA_ENC_REFP_STATE =2 30200 $MA_NUM_ENCS =2 31000 $MA_ENC_IS_LINEAR =0 31040 $MA_ENC_IS_DIRECT =1 31020 $MA_ENC_RESOL =2048 And plz check DB31.DBX1.5or DB31.DBX1.6 is high at all time when you power on the machine.

Balu_M Posts: 69 Rating: (1)	Dear Sir, Thanks for your reply, As per your instruction all the external encoder parameter has been set correctly.In that machine there is 6 axis and one spindle , all are absolute encoders. I having problem with z and A axis only.reference position lost after every time power off and on. other X , Y, W, B axes are working perfectly. here with i attach nc archive file in pdf format, Kindly help me to slove the problem. Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (484)	Hello Balaji, Does your motor internal encoder for Z and the A axis motors is with absolute? Because in the parameters for Z as well as for A axis 30240[0]Enc_Type _Axis[3]and Axis[7]=4 but in the parameter 34210[0]Enc_Ref state_Axis[3]and Axis[7]=0 (if it is absolute encoder the value should be 2 here) Have entered the external encoder PPR properly could you cross check the same. Balu_M Posts: 69 Rating: (1)	Mr. Ekalavya, Thanks for your reply, all my motor encoder are absolute enocders. if I enabe motor encoder for Z and A axis Absolute encoder did not lost reference position and working properly. If I enable external encoder , reference postion lost every time power off and on time. In that Machine there is 6 axes and one spindle, X, Y, Y, W , B, SP, A. X,Y,W axes are external encoder enabled - heidenhain Linear scale absolute. B, A, Z axes are external encoder enabled - heidenhain, EnDat01, 2048ppr. Kindly help me to slove the problem. Balu_M Posts: 69 Rating: (1)	Hi Experts, Herewith i attached PLC backup, Regarding Absolute external rotary encoder position lost, every time power off and on in 840 D system. I changed external Z axis encoder cable after there is no improvement. If i set 36310 ENC_ZERO_MONITORING bit in Z axis and try to move the axis. Then alarm 25020 Axis Z zero mark monitoring of active encoder came. Please help me slove the problem. Attachment Wotan__Boring.zip (334 Downloads)
