Dear SM, 6ES7195-7HB00-0XA0 SIMATIC DP, BUS UNIT FOR ET200M F. THE INTEGR.OF TWO 40 MM WIDE I/O SUBMODULES FOR INSERT/REMOVE 6ES7195-7HC00-0XA0 SIMATIC DP, BUS UNIT FOR ET200M F. THE INTEGR.OF ONE 80 MM WIDE I/O SUBMODULE FOR INSERT/REMOVE There are no restrictions on using these bus modules in a certain order. You have to use them according to the order of modules in the rack taking into consideration the width of each module to sellect the suitable bus unit. Please find attached the following picture which will guide you how to know the required BM directlly from the HW configuration. Just you have to double click on the distributed rack, select the mask of "Operating parameters", and see the lower section of it. Also it tells you the required part number of the rack. Dear SM, Basically there's no certain order as I have explained. But the error you have now is due to the followings. The F-AI 6 "New type" width = 40 mm. So you will use with it BM type: 6ES7195-7HB00-0XA0 Which's suitable for the integration of two 40 mm modules. The F-DI or F-DO modules, Width = 80mm. So you will use with each of them, BM type: 6ES7195-7HC00-0XA0Which's suitable for the integration of one 80 mm module. If you have ordered the F-modules, look at the rear of them and you will note that mechanically, the F-AI module will be located in the first half of the BM (6ES7195-7HB00-0XA0 ), What about the second half? This is the reason. So, If you want to keep the arrangement as is; AI, DI, and DO. Then you will need a dummy module to insert beside the AI. You can check in in HW config. And also you can change the order of the modules as you have already mentioed "DI, DO, AI" Hope this helps,

Dear SM, Both proposals are correct. If you leave the remaining space without insertion of any module, no problem. If you put dummy module, it's ok. I mean, here that you can put a dummy module.
