Dear Sandman, We want to use our touchpanel for controling and monitor ourrobot. Theprogramming languages forthe robot is Labview. With labview it is also possible to make programs for windows mobile. The first step for us was to explore if it is possible to install additional software on the TP177b. On the robot is also a webcam from Axis. Included with this webcam is a software package for windows mobile 2003. This software is suiteble for the arm processor witch is installed on the TP177b. The package must be installed by ActivSnc. ActiveSync can comunicate by serial or usb.I have tried serial because usb support on the touchpanel is only for read/write operations of files. In the mean time i discover that TP177b does not have a serial port at all. It is optional and the D-sub-9 connection is only suiteble for MPI/Profibus. With windows mobile it is also possible to install by a .cab file direct on the device. We have tried that but get a error that the software is not suiteble for this version of windows mobile. Strange because on my PDA with the same version of windows mobile it worked verry well. I will include the software package. Perheaps you know a solution. Kindly regards Mech Attachmentwebcamviewer.zip (101 Downloads) |

Hello, you can try to install software on the panel but there isn`t a guarantee that this software will work then. At the panels are WinCE installed as operation system. But it is a customized version (customized for the device type). If you want to install such controls at a panel i just can advice you to take a look at this FAQ: Is there a Siemens contact for customer-specific software solutions, extensions to WinCC flexible or own applications for Windows CE Panels? best regards |
