Good Morning,

I'm hoping this will be a very simple fix.

Currently I have a project with various devices on throughout the site, all networked via profibus.

I'm wanting to add an already connected device to this project.  I have added the relevant station into the hardware config, set it to the correct address (12) and made it a slave.  I can then see this fine in the network devices.

The problem is, when i'm opening the Master CPU hardware config to add it to the profibus network on there it doesn't appear.  When i've tried to add it in from the profibus catalogue it want's to give it a new address (14).  When I try to change this to address 12 it says it is already in use.  How do I couple this so the CPU I am adding in is 12.  The newest CPU in the project. ??

sounds like i-Slave or?
Which PLC exactly is the slave?

If is S7-300 then you must add in the master station not the specific PLC , use the PROFIBUS DP -> Configured Station -> S7-31x

Then you can couple the station with the slave PLC.

So, the Master PLC is 315-2DP, the slave which I want to add is 313C-2DP

Its slave I need to couple on the Master DP.  When i've added the CPU-31x there is a tab for coupling but I can't couple it with anything as its greyed out.

can you provide some screens of the Configuration please?

can it be that the slave is not on the same PROFIBUS Network like the master PLC?

There's only 1 profibus network so that shouldn't be the case.

I've attached some photo's of the config.

Other than the ABT_Plant PLC added to the Master PLC network.

That now couple's! Great, however....

The issue I have now is I can't see it when i've gone online (pic attached) I know the profibus network and connection is OK as I've compared blocks and can see it in accesible nodes.

I'm thinking this has something to do with the MS Config, as I had to put at least 1 in there to get it to compile?  I have put 2 in, do these need to be specific?

the MS COnfig (Transferareas) depends on how many Data you need to transfer.

Have you after the configuration and compile download the changed HWConfig to both PLC's?

I would like to have no transfer data for the time being, I'd just like to see it on the network, however it wouldn't let me compile without doing so?

If this was the case then nothing would need uploaded on the slave PLC?

Hello,

Master Slave Config need a minimum of 1 transferarea.

And the configuration must be load to both devices, to master and to slave.

If you don't need a Master slave configuration then why exactly you configure it?
