Adding Retentive Timers

napp0002 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hey guys, I want to add three retentive timers accumilated times together. I want to do this to compare how long each timer has been respectively on. Here is my code but it is not working: IF "LowPressure" AND NOT "HighPressure" AND "AutoMode" THEN //Add timer totals together "TimerTotal" = "TimerA".ET + "TimerB".ET +"TimerC".ET; END_IF; IF "TimerA".ET / "TimerTotal" <= 0.6 THEN //turn on pump a "PumpA"; END_IF; Any advice?

Plus what have been mentioned by "William B.", For checking binary conditions I use "IF (A=1) AND (B=0) THEN..." For assignment : "TimerTotal" := "TimerA".ET + "TimerB".ET +"TimerC".ET; You can use TIME-->DINT-->REAL conversion to have division you want. And finally to activate an output you should use : "PumpA":=1; I hope not to miss any other points.

William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1198)	hdhosseini - I missed those. Thanks for coming to the rescue. napp0002.. why are you using SCL? Does it come more natural for you.. used to C++ or such? SCL is closer to Pascal / Delphi. Consider using more LAD (ladder logic). Feel free to ask when you need help. w

napp0002 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	I am using it because I feel it will be better for comparing multiple values. With the math functions in ladder logic you can only compare two values at a time. Thanks again
