Alarm acknowledgement in WinCC 6.2 SP2

kv77 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi, Our alarms would need to be acknowledged seperatly in the PLC. We use the standard WinCC alarm control window. If an alarm occurs, the operator must click on it to acknowledge it in WinCC. However, if the alarm is still active in the PLC it would need to be acknowledged again. The operator can do this by again clicking on the alarm. Only the alarm that was clicked must be reset in the PLC! Is it possible to set a unique bit in the PLC for each alarm when it is being clicked? Thanks

You can use status tag assignet to an alarm if u assign 32-bit tag for status tag Alarm logging will write to this tag into bit 0-15 status of an alarm and respectively to bits 16-31 state saying wheather is has been ack-ed or not. Mind you need to assigntwo 32-bit status tags if you are using one 32-bit alarm tag due to amount of information it is carring about an alarm. But we reckon that only works once. If you click the alarm the ack bit is set and the alarm is acknowledged in WinCC. If the alarm is still present in the PLC (message is acknowledged in wincc but problem is still there) you have to reset the alarm again as soon as the problem is fixed to make the alarm go away. We cant reset the alarms in the PLC automatically as soon as the ack bit is there and the problem is fixed because that would lead to automatic resets (=dangerous) We would like the ack bit to be set in the PLC on every mouseclick on the alarm message, no matter what the status of the alarm is. Any thoughts? cheers

IfI am wrong, tell me. - an alarm ist coming and you see the "c" blinking. - you acknowledge and the "c" is standig still - the alarm is going and you have to acknowledge again, to see the alarm not longer to solve that - open alarm logging - select the message class of the alarm - click in the menübar at "Edit" > "Properties" > "Acknowledgment" - deactivate "Acknowledgment Went Out" If that not solvethe problem, please describe the problem step by step. An alarm is triggert by rising or falling edge, so i think the problem isby WinCC projection. regards cumulus
