RobL Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Is it possible to add a alarm filter which filters on area and which is client depedent? Proposed situation: - 5 WinCC clients - Area's: A , B ,C and D - Client 1 , 2 and 3 gets only alarms for area: A and B - Client 4 gets only alarms for area C - Client 5 gets the alarms for all area's - All clients should be able to see all area's (So Client 1 can see area C but doesn't get the alarms) If possible don't use different users for the clients.

Ikkezelf Posts: 1084 Rating: (72)	Hi, Yes this is possible. a solution could be: - Create a column in the alarm logging called "Area". - Define for each alarm to which area this alarm belongs. - On the client in the "alarm control" you can set up an alarm filter manually (during runtime or already in development). And if you want to have it client dependent. - You could run a c- script during startup that determines by the computername what should be thefilter sql script that needs to be entered within the alarm control property "SQLFilter". Ikkezelf Posts: 1084 Rating: (72)	Hi, You could use the alarm control in runtime to determine the SQL Query that is need to be used for all the different clients. You can seta filter on the alarm control, and if you open it again you see the query that is used. you can then use the c-script to enter those 'found' query's in the alarm control. with regards, Ikkezelf

For Example: SetPropChar(IpszPictureName,"Control1","MsgFilterSQL","STATEIN(1)"); Parameter:Explanation: IpszPictureName Picture name that contains the OCX Control1 Name of the Alarmlogging-OCX MsgFilterSQLProperty to be stimulated STATE IN(1)SQL-Statement Where should i put this command? Here's a part of our filter script, to help: switch (GetTagSByte("Client_Number")) { case 0: break; case 1: strcat(Filter, " AND TEXT3 LIKE 'Area 1'"); break; case 2: strcat(Filter, " AND TEXT3 IN('Area 2', 'Area 3')"); break; case 3: strcat(Filter, " AND TEXT3 LIKE 'Area4'"); break; } return Filter; That is a function, called by the "MsgFilterSQL" property on the Alarm control! The script assumes that the "Text3" is the User Defined block where your Area is stored. Best regards! Danielle

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hey! Actually that's pretty much all you need for that filter! As I said, "Client_Number" is a tag representing the client's number, and the Area has been configured in the text3, among the user text blocks!You should replace that 3 by the unmber of your area text block! That script shouldbe on a C-Action on the MsgFilterSQL, In the Control Properties of your Alarm Control object! As you can see, if the client's number is 1 that alarm control will only display the messages which have the text "Area 1" on the user text block 3, and so on... Hope it helps! Best regards, Danielle
