Alarm Logging - Loss of Meassage Tags

henno2000 Posts: 177 Rating: (0)	Following the setting up of a series of analogue alarms as per: /tf/WW/en/Posts/8861 I was contacted to discover that almost every alarm had been activated. Upon further inspection the plant was OK, so alarm logging was examined and found that most of the message tags for the alarms had disappeared and replaced by blanks. I re-instated the tags, saved and exited. I checked later in the day to find that a few more had disappeared.... This is the only occurance of this, and has just occurred to the recently configured analogue alarms. Has anyone experienced this before, or could possibly give an explanation? Regards, henno2000

Can you check the time they went away, and see which event lead to it? Is there anything in your logs? Best regards, Danielle

Best regards, Danielle Hi, I have configured both the high and low limits, and am able to view the alarms through the history, but am unable to find a reason as to why they disappear. (I can can verify a time that they disappear due to the fact that ALL of the alarm messages simutaneously appear on the alarms screen!) Just seems very strange as this is the first time I have experienced this (coincidentally it is just happening to the analogue alarms) Regards, henno2000

Did you transfer ("map") any messages/DB/alarms from STEP7 to WinCC after having saved your messages? nemo Files attached. The triggers for the alarms are not from Step7, but from an external application where the tags are passed via OPC. Well.. for the alarms to be activated the tags must've been there at that time... But then you said the tags had disappeared,.. that's the MessageTag column in Alarm Logging, right? Does that apply to the analog alarms limit checking? Has the limit checking gone away all together, as if you had never configured that?
