Alarm_s after WinCC migration

Vishal Desai Experienced Member Joined: 7/24/2014 Last visit: 1/9/2025 Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Hello all, I am working on an HMI migration to v16 from MP377. Alarm_s procedure is used in step 7. After migration of HMI to v16 and setting up proxy device, I cannot get the alarm_s to work/show up in runtime settings. Work done so far: 1. Separated WinCC HMI project from Step 7. Standalone wincc hmi shows the alarm procedure config as before 2. Migrated wincc to v16. Added proxy plc and imported everything. Compiled all, no errors, no luck 3. Tried changing panel types, tried different tia v13,v14, still no luck 4. Just for testing, migrated even plc project to tia v16 and added my hmi project there. Can see all alarm_s stuff on plc side. Compile all, no errors, still nothing on hmi side I have run out of all ideas now. I dont understand what I am doing wrong. Can someone please help ? Thanks a ton ! I had 'S7 type' connection with HMI. Had to change to 'HMI type' connection. Once did that, it all worked out. Just a side note during plc migration(v16 initial relase): 1. During plc project migration, the alarm numbers (eventIDs) got messed up. 2. The FB calls showed EventID (600001 for eg) but the 'PLC supervision and alarms' list showed that same message on with 600034. This caused wrong messages to show up on HMI during runtime. 3. I retried plc migration and same thing. So, some mapping during migration is not correct. 4. So, in migrated project, I just deleted all iDBs. Recreated them to generate new eventIDs, copied over all message texts from old project. Everything is good now !! Regards Vishal
