Alarm window is taking so long

DanielMelo Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello all, We have a project with redundant servers and CAS. I have configured the alarm logging for 1 month on the servers and 1 year on CAS. When I open an alarm window throught faceplate (filtered by source), it is taking around 5 minutes to show the messages !! Have you ever seen this behavior?? The default message window isset to "display short-term archive list". Does it contain the CAS data? I do not beliave so. So it should not take so long! Can you help me with this issue? I appreciate your attention with this matter!

For test can you CAS for short time switch OFF and to try open an faceplate alarm window. Is it same time? How PCS 7 version you use? Regards

DanielMelo Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	I have changed the default configuration (one month) to one week, and now it's much bettter! For huge projects like this I am working now one month is to many data, and the WinCC takes long time to handle it. One week is better, once I have a CAS in my configuration! Tks!

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hello, The optimization of data archiving and retrieving configurations must always be done considering the amount, type, cycle, etc. of the data to be archieved within the period... you'll have to analyse this for every project individually in order to achieve a better performance. Compendium Part A - Configuration Guidelines (07/2009, English) section/chapter Archive configuration for TagLogging Fast and TagLogging Slow Note If a CAS is used, for reasons of performance we recommend that you set the size of a single segment to a maximum of 700 MB Note As a rule, no more than 200 single segments (for the TagLogging Fast/Slow and AlarmLogging archive databases) may be generated in total. cabreytj
