KTM990SM Posts: 9 Rating: (1)	Hi there I'm having problems with a recently installed DO X 16 AC120V/230V output card (322-1FH00-0AA0). Each of the 16 outputs is permanently high at 120V despite nothing being forced in the software and none of the status LEDs being on. The ET200M rack is not displaying any errors and the only time the SF LED on the card comes on is when I disconnect either one of the 120V L1 connections. Only one of the outputs is connected to a field device - a motor control centre, in this case. I've checked the S7300 Module Data Manual regarding this card and it states that the 2 load voltages must be on the same phase. They were not, so I remedied this, but the problem persisted. I changed the card for a brand new card and the problem was still there, proving the Siemens hardware was ok. I haven't got access to the software so I can't check the Hardware config, etc but I've checked the obvious things, such as the fuses and disconnecting the output, but I'm running out of ideas. Any suggestions or advice would be most welcome. Dan.

KTM990SM Posts: 9 Rating: (1)	Hi Piscean 2010 I don't have access to the drawings as I suspect the contractor who installed this new card did so without updating or even using the existing drtawings. I've attached a very basic drawings of how the card has been installed. The 2nd group of outputs has been omitted for clarity and the only the first output has field wiring attached. The installation is an oilrig which means Neutral and Earth are the same. Hopefully this gives you some understanding of the situation. Regards Dan. Is it possible to load an empty program and a bare minimum hardware configuration? I have had issues with relay based PLC outputs that switched 220Vac valve coils (inductive load) and did what you describe. Nowadays I do what we did in the "old" days and use external relays.. solid state ones can be sourced at a good price. If you follow the two above question we might be able to help further. KTM990SM Posts: 9 Rating: (1)	Hi William B Thanks for the suggestion. However, I don't have access to the code so I can't even confirm if it's the correct GSD for the DO card in question. The contractor who installed the card will be back on site soon, so hopefully the issue will be resolved and I can post the info on this thread. Dan.

Perhaphs measuring with a probe or instrument it can show some voltage, because there is no load connected. This is due to snubber ( capacitor and resistor) connectedin parallel tothe triac that always leaks some little current.

Asking because You mentioned 120V comes when You connect the wiring to the coil so it could have L and N swapped on other end of the coil.
