Careful.. you have two description to look at. "Ethernet" describes the way the hardware connection works. A protocol explains how the signal is transmitted. In your case you can use the PLC's ethernet port to establish communication. But you need to know which protocol ("language") is going to be used. There are two common protocols that can be used.. * Modbus IP * Profinet You will have to do research on what the AB panel can handle. Get the manual for your panel and go look what they say. Some panels have a selection where you can tell it what PLC you are connecting to. (The Siemens KP300 (?) allow you to link to AB PLCs.) Seeing as you published this theme under "LOGO", you will not easily find someone to help you. This theme should rather be under S7-1200 or better yet.. communications. I can assist no further.. sorry. I hope you find your answers. w Late note.. Ethernet/IP is also the protocol I missed. This is what is required, I think. You will have to find out in forum how that works. (SIMATIC S7-1200, STEP 7 (TIA Portal), Communication / Networks) |

Hello, I believe the AB panels use Kep-server for third party communication. I'm sure there are S7 drivers available for this product. For questions like this you should contact AB or Kepware or search a bit at their sites. They are the ones that can tell you if there are any S7 drivers. Regards, Marcjan |
