Amber backlight and Shift register using cursor keys

I've made this contraption, in order to use a cursor key to cycle some pages 

and use the cursor keys to illuminate screen for 15 seconds each time a key is pressed.

In theory it works. But not on the actual machine.

Amber lights up only for the first 15 seconds, and the page feature only shows the first page.

Advice, please?

unfortunately your program doesn't seem to be complete. What are the building blocks B003 and B041 supposed to be for ? Presumably, the failure delay is kept at HI. But you can only determine that with the original program in online mode.

 @atsimas: Forget about using the shift register and cursor keys. The cursor keys is useless for what you want to and the actual working is not like the simulation leads you to think. As already said by the expert:

The real problem is:

At the time of pressing ESC + Cursor Up no message text is activated. Without an active message text, pressing the ESC key is interpreted as calling up the system menu.

You can activate more than one message at once. Then it is possible to scroll through the messages using the up/down keys. The "priority" attribute in the message block says which message will be displayed first.
