Ambient air temperature measurement with Profinet

Hi,

I would like to measure ambient air temperature of a warehouse, then send this info to a database and share with colleagues.

I am not very familiar working with analogue hardware and values such as 4-20ma due to mainly working with conveyors. They're either on or off for most applications.

Please can you assist me with a few queries?

does this question refer to communication with database or connection of temperature transmitters?

In general with the integrated PROFINET interface several communication methods can be used.

With new firmware version you can also use CPU as an opc ua server and read the values from.

So mainly it depends on how the database should be connected.

The integrated analog inputs are used for voltage. So if you would like to use a temperature transmitter for 4-20mA you will need an input module for current.

If you would like to connect PT100/1000, you will need a module for RTD/resistance.
