Analog Input and Output Support S7 CPU

I have small doubt regarding Analog input and output support to CPU.

I have 317-2 PN/DP ( 6ES7317-2EK14-0AB06 ) CPU. I want to know how many analog input and output support for this support ?

In technical Specification it shown like this.

1. What is mean by address area & distributed of input and output?

2. Digital Channel 1. Input :- 65536 2. Output :- 65536 ???

3. Analog Channel 1. Input :- 4096 2. Output : -4096 ???

Please help me to understand all above concept. So it will help me select proper CPU.

Thanks for your quick reply. So I can connect following Inputs and Output to my317-2 PN/DP ( 6ES7317-2EK14-0AB06 )CPU.

1. Digital Input :-65536 nos.

2. Digital Output :-65536 nos.

3. Analog Input :-4096nos.

4. Analog Output :-4096nos.

No, it is wrong,The total capacity of process image(input/output) is 8192 bytes. Your final configuration should be within this limit.Note, each module occupies certain number of bytes on process image.For example, a digital input with 32 channel occupie 4 bytes on the input PI.For numbers, you mentioned ,you may need 2 CPUs to ,ideally, cover all modules.It is an ideal number and you will not reach that because of other constrains.

Thanks once again. Now last question. In table it is mention process image size.

Process image
Inputs	8192byte
Outputs	8192byte

So including Digital input & Analog input I can connect maximum 8192 byte and same for digital output & analog output 8192 byte.

For analog input & output we are reading & writing values outside the process image e.g PIW 512 & PQW 512. So as you saidtotal capacity of process image(PI) is8192 bytes this limitation is not applicalble to AI & AQ ?
