Analog Input reading Negative

Hike Posts: 138 Rating: (0)	Good day guys, I am facing a weird problem with the siemens AI card6ES7 331-7KF02-0AB0. I have configured the channels to be 4 wire and getting 4-20mA from the source. If i check with the meter on the card channel the current direction is OK. However in the PIW register it shows negative values. My concern is if i have configured 4-20mA should i get negative values in register? And if my current flow is OK with the meter what could be the possible reason of having negative values. This problem is arising in 2 channels only (channel 6 and 7). All the other 6 channels are showing good values. Waiting for the possible answers. Thanks

Are you getting exact value in negative or -32767 counts in PIW?? Because there is no reason for getting negative value for configuring 4 wire in Module. You can also check by giving source 4-20mA directly into module for checking wrong connection to TB!!!! hope it helps..

Hello, I hope that you have selected Channel type & rangeCorrectly in HW. if it is properly selected ,Please change the Channel type & check the result.

Yes, I agree, but that statement of yours is valid fo all kind of transducers, not only for 4 - wire... Perhaps there is a misunderstanding from me / you? Edit: Also, he told us later that he get 5 mA. I can not read his mind from the distance, may be you can...
