Hello mich23 a SM331 can be put anywhere (e.g. you can put itin the Central rack (CPU rack) or Expansion rack (IM365 or IM360/361 based) or Profibus ET200M I/O station or Profinet ET200M I/O station). I hope this helps Edit: Just to complement Aret's useful advise below, the backplane current consumption of the 331- 7KF02 AI card is 50mA andcan be found in THIS manual. General useful advise about S7 300 Hardware and Installation can be foundin THIS manual (which does state 0.8 Amp as max backplane current consumption for an IM365 based ER and 1.2 Amp max for CR and ER backplane current consumption together if IM365 is used). |

Hello all,
I agree too.
From the Module data manual, you will found that current consumption from backplane bus DC 5V, is 100mA max for IM365. You can see it also in CA01 mall. And there is another term. Current shinking is max. 1.2 Aand per module is 0.8A. So I think we should not exceed 800 mA per rack *** Please correct me if I am wrong *** And for the SM331 module "6ES7 331-7KF02-0AB0", the current consumption from backplane bus DC 5V, is 50mA. |

Hello Ayman Elotaify I think you confused the current that the IM365 itself consumes with the current that it is capable of supplying to the ER backplane. The former is 100mA, the latter (which Aret quite rightly alerted too) is 800mA. |

Hello fritz, What I wanted to say in my previous post that the current consummed by the IM365 is 100mA and it can supply up to 800mA as recommended by Siemens while the max. is 1.2 A. I have edited my previous post few seconds before your answer. |
