Analog Output Module Wiring

Joji00 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hi guys, I need to know how many wires I need to connect for a 4-20mA current output. I guess only 2 would be enough. Are there anything i should care about? I have searched the support site but unable to find relevent data (might be because of my pathetic search skills. ) I am using module 6ES73325HF000AB0. Actually i am not sure if I need to connect the Mana of every output with functional ground or not. Also, another rather 'stupid' question... what does the term "functional ground" mean? Thanks in advance

How to connect you will find in module data manual http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/8859629 You will see there that for every analog input you need to connect Mana. See link for details.

Also should i be connecting all the Mana to functional ground or not. Because I can't see how the module would power up if I connect the 24V -ve to functional ground. Thanks

You connect analog output with two wires (AO and Mana) and also you should connect power supply to module. Then Mana and -24V of the supply must be grounded. This is important to have analog deviced to have the same potential as power supply.

Nil96 Posts: 325 Rating: (13)	Hi Joji00, Well connect the Power Supply +24V to the Pin 1 & the Ground to Pin 20. Well as far as the output is concerned u can get this from Pin 3 & 6 for Channel 1. Regards Nil
