Analog output wiring

Raffy Posts: 209 Rating: (2)	Hi, I would like to ask how to use the analog outputbuilt in function of the CPU 314-2 DP? As we all know the CPU I'm using has a built in analog output modules...AO 0-1.... The problem is I don't know how to turn it on or how to use it....I can't find the connection for the external power supply on the module... Please help with this guys, Thanks, Raffy

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (264)	1) Wiring is described in module scheme in documentation. What actuator do you have? 2) Programming is quite easy = if you configures AO as 4-20 mA for example on output 512 then writing L 27648 T PQW512 will produce 20mA on your output

Raffy Posts: 209 Rating: (2)	Hi Aret, I would like to ask if there is a need for an external supply to work with the AO....because I tried to monitor the output of my AO but it says it cannot be monitored.... What could be the problem?? I'm just testing my AO so that I could control a proportional valve...or a positional actuator....

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (264)	AO can't be monitored, because you put it in PQW. That means this value is not stored in CPU(QW area is stored, PQW not), so you can't monitor it. You can do following .... T DB123.DBW456 T PQW512 and then monitor DB123.DBW456

So my next question is there a need of external power supply for this module?? because in the CPU 314-2DP it has a built in AI and AO module....The way I look at its schematic diagram there is no connection for external power supply so maybe this would mean that there is no need for an external power supply...right??
