analog to drive help

michael gilbert Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Could any please help me with this problem how do i use (OM-O) to supply 4-20ma to my drive. I have tried every thing I know to do. I convert my IW using scalex and norm, this works well I have no problem with input. Im just not sure how to or what to I need to do to get It to IW96 I am also not sure how to wire this Do I run two wires directly to drive from OM-O or is there other wiring I need Please help, post me a quick program and wiring diagram so I cant get it wrong. I have tried everything I know and the boss is on my but. Thanks Everyone

michael gilbert Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thanks Marcjan The cpu is s-7 1214 dc/dc/rly 24vdc and 1 analog SM1234 WITH 4 iw and 2 QW I will send the 4`20ma to a yaskawa drive to control speed. I will let the drive do PID I just dont understand how to do s7basic pid. thanks again so much.

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 12/5/2023 Posts: 13972 Rating: (2279)	On the 4 IW / 2 QW, configure the analog out for 0-20 mA. Scale your output signal for 4-20mA. Alternately, you can get a current loop controller. Something that accepts 0-20mA input and 4-20mA output.

It is important to set in yaskawa drive the setpoint channel parameter in order to react when receive value between 4-20mA scalled in CPU. Also to assign what will correspond to 20mA...Most probably you will need to assign there START/STOP and PRESET ON (or similar) signals' channels... Best reagrds, Hristo Mihalev .

I just started using PLC in the past 3 or so months I have used analog controllers in the past to control drives. We changed to PLC to help control cost. I was hoping I could control several drives with one PLC.
