Analog values go past maximum value

aikona Posts: 487 Rating: (36)	Hi Due to an error on one analog ( which we are still trying to solve) ,another three analogs all go out of range ( 7FFF) Why would it do that ? Is there a setting to limit that only the faulty analog gives an error We are presuming that the zero volt for that one analog is not correct S7_300 range and 6ES7 331-7KF02-0AB0 and all four analogs are 4 to 20 mAmps Eric

Please post the diagnostics message here. Do this by selecting module in HW configuration screen and press Ctrl+D

It's normal. Other analogs should be ok, but in your case it could be damaged 2 groups of analogs.

aikona Posts: 487 Rating: (36)	Ok problem fixed but .... When connecting the "faulty" analog ALL channels go to 7FFF. We then changed the analog to another spare location , and put a bridge on the old channel , but this gives the same problem ..We also measured the analog signal and its well within range ( 9 mAmps) We then removed the bridge piece from the old channel and the problem was gone . Obviously this old channel is defect ....altough the card has been replaced with a new one.We still have to find out what happened during the night shift and what actions did they do . Problem remains that ALL channels go to 7FFF what could cause this kind of beheavior? Eric

Yes, but I think that analog instrument or some peak damaged the card. Anyway diagnostics is a good idea, but don't think it will help. By the way, what instrument is connected to the card ? What about wiring ? Do you have any fuses on that ?

aikona Posts: 487 Rating: (36)	Yes Its a Festo pressure gauge ( 0 to 10 bar = 4 to 20 mAmp) .There is also a digital contact but one of the first things the technicians did was to change the pressure gauge .its connected via a prewired 4 connection plug. Eric
