Because I don't see how a S7-300, which has no HMIs, would sell more or be more appealing to the marketjust by running with Android. Mike PLC with Android OS can connect to PC for download,upgrade.......

As far as I understand android is much secure than any other plc's and HMI's, the reason why android has much viruses than current plc's is most PC programmers are not aware of automation technology. Despite their bad sides, viruses are makining good contribution for technology, imagine if there is no viruses, microsoft might stick to Windows 98.

And it may have infinite application areas. Sure .. Android can have infinite application areas .. but personally I am not a Fan. While Android is a good product ... it is Google that I Don't trust. They already track our Contacts, Email Contentss, Web Pages Browsed by us, books read, things purchased... the list is long ... and they keep bombarding us with Ads based on this information. I won't be surprised that if we started using Android Devices, Google will start tracking information about each and every device that we are using and God knows how they will be exploiti it ... How about Ads Popping up on your HMI or your Competitor being able to get from Google details of all systems that you are using ( At a cost ) Siemens had used Windows-CE for some of the HMI Panels but then abandoned Windows-CE for Open Source Software.
