(another) Update delay problem

iwarmels Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Hi, I've got a problem with opening pictures. Read through THIS topic, but i can't find a working solution out of this. My problem: I've got a picture with about 330 tags, all animations are connected through Dynamic dialog or Direct Tag connection, when opening this picture it takes about 3 minuts to show all animations All triggers are picture cycle, which set to 1 minute right now. I tried to change all triggers to Tag-trigger, wich resulted in double load time (after 6 minuts i stoped timing) Don't have to tell these are unaccepteble times. What else can i try to speed things up??? - PLC: 315F; - CP-kaart: GX21 (advanched IT ethernet kaart); - Switch: Fast ethernet switch 10/100MB); - PC with WinCC: 512 MB internal memory, 3.00GHz CPU-speed; - WinCC: Version 6.0, SP4, Hotfix 2; - WinCC communication settings: Industrial Ethernet mac-adres of the cp-kaart Thanks in advance Ivo

I would expect this to give bad performance and tag triggers (with a realistic poll interval)should always be used instead. You mention that you have already tried this.I would recommend you change back to tag triggers and we can look at why it's so slow. Can you post the modified PDL here?

I changed the Dynamic Dialog triggers from Picture Cycle to Tag Trigger with 1 second poll rate and the picture updated in 1-2 seconds. The original picture took ~3minutes to update. Sounds pretty conclusive to me What do you think?

iwarmels Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	this makes me think the problem should be solved now. So, I changed the to tag-trigger, with 1 second update. The read-in time now exceeds 11 minutes.... I dressed down the picture to just one track. the altert picture is attached. I'm beginning to think its a system-config problem, since Salma gets nice times.... However, the binairy/boolean tags are read in no-time, but the tags (text background and rectangle background, which are unsigned 16-bit-tags, take all the time.... what else can i try to speed things up?? Salma Gold Member Joined: 9/27/2005 Last visit: 11/27/2007 Posts: 1398 Rating: (151)	Three things to check: 1) If the analog tags are coming from a datablock then they are usually read faster. Also the addresses should be contiguous in the datablock. 2) It could be that the tag needs to be logged onto the DataManager each time the picture is opened. You could try logging these tags in the TagLogging Editor as a test. This should ensure the tags are continuously polled. 3) You could try using a GetTagMultiWait on window load to start polling the tags before the scripts need to run. As you say, it sounds like the issue is regarding the communications and not so much the scripts. So I would recommend you look through the WinCC Diagnose directory and see if any errors / warnings are occurring.

iwarmels Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Pfff Dusty [:xxx:] Wel i think i've got the problem solved [:)] I changed the way the colors appear within the pictures. For example: I ripped every section of a trac into peaces and made upto six differend colort rectangles and a copy of the textfield with a red background. All rectangle (accept the Dark gray one, that should be visible when there is no tagconnection) set to invisible. created from all section components a customized object Written a VBScript that makes the right color rectangle visible. The tag wich will be read for the coloring of the rectangels connected to a "linebackground" property (thit property has no visible effect) so the tag-engine connects to that tag immidiatly. This adaption makes the update delay only about 2/3 seconds for a screen with about 300 tags. much better than 11 minuts [:o] All triggers are set to picturecycle
