A hardware interrupt OB will interrupt normal cyclic program execution in reaction to a signal from a hardware event. You define the events in the properties of the hardware configuration. One OB is allowed for each configured hardware event. The OB must be OB 200 or greater. So, you wire your input(s) to your PLC inputs (the main PLC, not attached modules). You configure your PLC to detect either leading or trailing edge trigger. You add an OB200+ as a hardware interrupt. You configure the input interrupt handler to be your OB20n created above. Put in code for OB20n to handle the interrupt. Compile, download, test.

Is this to control a HSC input? If so, do a screen-shot of the hardware interrupt OB logic that isn't working properly. One way to debug interrupt code is to put counters using global DBs so your main OB can see how often your hardware interrupt is being serviced. If it is not getting called at all, that either wiring or configuration. If it gets called one time only, that's maybe your input doesn't drop low enough and maybe you need a pull-down/up resistor to drop the voltage lower, or get it higher. Without a clue what your real trouble is other than you really need help, it is tough tossing out random ideas.

PistonDog Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Counters need a rising edge which in the interrupt execution may not be 'sensed'. Put the counter in a cyclic block (called by OB1), use the interrupt to set a flag (ie m2.0), use the flag to reset your counter. You'll also have to reset m2.0 in the cyclic logic after counter is reset. This won't work if the interrupt occurs at a high frquency relative to the scan, But if you're trying to catch a short pulse (parts falling into a box), it'll work fine.
