Any possibility that Simotion TCP/IP get reset ?

Tikki Posts: 116 Rating: (2)	Dear Expert, I have Simotion controller D435-2 running at customer site. As far as I know, it was running fine for a year (I think they always power off during weekend) and suddenly they have problem that Simotion Ethernet connection has lost (after power off during weekend). They try to connect directly on D435 port but still no reply from those 3 ports (ping base on HW configure's IP). I will let them check with PRONETA tool. but any idea by the way ? is it possible that TCP/IP setting get reset ? what is an IP in case it got reset ? and how to restore it back without SCOUT tool ? BTW, I hardly think that they press reset switch on controller. Best regards,

ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 4/22/2025 Posts: 22600 Rating: (3060)	Hello, i think you mean the X150 Interface on the SIMOTION. The default factory IP is 0.0.0.0. With PRONETA you can set the IP. Normally this IP is configured in HWConfig an saved in SDB which are stored on the CF Card of SIMOTION. If you use the Option "Assign IP in Userprogram" or assign the IP from other PROFINET Controller the the IP can be lost during power off. The reset button doesn't delete the IP settings! Can you check if any error is loged in the Diagnostic buffer of the SIMOTION? If any other device with the same IP is on the Subnet during Power ON the SIMOTION reset the IP! Regards Christoph

Tikki Posts: 116 Rating: (2)	Chirstoph, I got this message when I try to set new IP. what is really weird in this case is, they got no reply from all those 3 Ethernet ports. We can simply use normal LAN cable to make a direct connection to Simotion, right? (do we need cross cable ?) I normally use normal LAN cable is work fine but when they can't find any port. If yes then it is not possible to set a new IP! all three ports are the same interface and have only 1 IP Suite. You can use normal LAN cable, no problem. The X150 Interface have autocrossover so you can use Cross or Patch cable. Regards Christoph

Tikki Posts: 116 Rating: (2)	There it is D435-2 2 DP (6AU1 435-2AA00-0AA0) It has x127, x120, x130 They can't find those 3 ports by ping command (they already change laptop to same ring on each trial)

OK x120,x130 and x127 are seperat interfaces each with his own IP Suite. If you connect Proneta to on of this interface an start the search, what is the result? Please make this for each Interface and post the found configuration from Proneta! Regards Christoph
