Hello, you can offline create the Memory Card content for S7-1200/S7-1500. Then you can send this to the customer, the customer copy the data to the mmc in Windows and put the mmc back in the plc and poweron. ist that a way you can use? or you test if the SIEMENS AUTOMATION TOOLcan handle your rquirements. A few options: TIA Portal trial license gives you a few weeks (I think 21 days) to use it before it quits working - to perhaps let your customers decide whether to purchase it themselves. TIA Portal License key on USB media that can be installed and then removed once the updates are made. Only once license per customer location would be required, unless you have a single person visiting multiple customer locations, then it's just one license per person performing the installs at multiple locations. You can load the program onto a program transfer memory card. Check the s7-1200 system manual for how this works. The last option I have not used or tried but should work.. Test at your facility and write up a procedure for your customer(s) on how to use it. They will have to download the s7-1200 tool from Siemens themselves though, so export restrictions may apply. If they successfully download and install the s7-1200 tool ( http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/98161300), they can download the project to the s7-1200 plc. The standard way Siemens-centric OEMs I've seen use the memory card option because it requires little more than mailing the upgrade to their customer. Customer shuts down their process, inserts the memory card, and restarts according to instructions provided with the memory card. With the s7-1200 though, it can and often does run without requiring a memory card, so this S7-1200 automation tool makes more sense because the project can often be send via email or made available via ftp or web site for download immediately rather than waiting on the mail. I hope this helps. You will want to look into each option in enough detail to find which ones make the most sense for your customer(s). |
