Anyone use Siemens Scalance S61 for VPN?

I'm planning to buy Scalance S61 to connect my siemens s7-400 plcs from internet. Only one s61 will be enough? I don't want to use 7/24 open pc and remote desktop programs. Anyone has better idea? How do you connect to plc lan network from internet? I heard some people telling that server computer supports vpn. I talked with my computer engineer friend who is responsible from server computer, for vpn (Virtual private network). He told me, what is vpn So I have to solve this problem by my own.
