Dear APT and Simatic-505 experts, I'm trying to make changes to a restored program for fish meal storage tanks in a local factory. The change involves mapping an additional I/O bit to trigger reset of a measurement value within the controller program, programmed with the Application Productivity Tool, APT 1.9. The CPU is of make 555-1103, configured in APT as TI555, Controller Release 4.X, PCS 2.X. Upon compilation of the restored program (even with no changes made to it), I receive an error message reading:
The Graphics/Math manual for APT suggests ERROR 12195 to be a profibus related error, displayed due to a mismatch in 2 files, i.e. the EXPORT.2BF file, a binary file export from the COM Profibus program, and PROFIBUS.CFG, a hand written text report where slave address is matched with it's corresponding module and slot number. However I don't see the description text, "Merge failed with return code -1" listed in the document ( see: Graphics/Math, page A-36 ). I've restored the COM Profibus project from the binary file, and cross referenced the slave configuration with that of the PROFIBUS.CFG report. The Profibus network consists of nine Danfoss VLT 5000 drives that were created with a legacy GSD file, a typdat5x file. I've tried making alterations to the COM Profibus project, to deliberately create a mismatch, in hope of getting a familiar error description, but in each case I get "... Merge failed with return code -1". I've also tried swapping out the typdat5x file (Da0402td.200) for a more recent GSD file (Da030402.GSD) in the COM Profibus project, exported the binary's to the PRR directory, and cross-referenced it with the Profibus.CFG report - with no luck. I was able to recreated ERROR 12195 in a test program, by addressing a slave in COM Profibus but not in the .CFG file. The error text displayed is now more familiar:
So my question is this: For what reason is the error text "Merge failed with return code -1" displayed? It doesn't seem to relate to a Profibus file mismatch in my case, nor a missing EXPORT file or a full disk space as is described in the Graphics/Math manual. Is it possible that the program file was corrupted in the Archive->Restore process? On that note, it's worth mentioning that I was able to go Online with the CPU using this restored version of the program... |

I've just now revisited this case (it's been on hold for the past couple of weeks). I checked the COM Profibus version I'm using, and it turns out to be V5.1.2.3, which according to this corresponds to version 5.1 + SP2 + HF3. So it seems I'm already using the latest, most stable version of COM Profibus available. |
