archive exel

in WinCC TIA Portal (Panels & RT Advanced) you can log messages and data.
You can choose "CSV file" as Storage location: Historical data > Alarm/Data logs > Storage location
This way you can open the archive in Excel (of course not while the file is written into, you have to copy it first).

I'm sorry, make that RT Advanced & Comfort Panels.
I didn't realize Basic Panels can't save as csv.

Excel can read the txt-file and separate the values:
(I don't have Excel in English, so some labels might differ.)

• Click on File > Open.
• Select "all files", select your txt-archive and click "open".
• A dialog opens: select the first one ("separate") and click continue
• Select your separator (comma, semicolon ?). There is always a preview in the bottom. From here on forward it should have the table separated the way you want it.
• Click continue or Finish.

Play with these settings, if something doesn't import correctly. Enjoy your archive in Excel. ; )

If you can program an Excel Macro you can use the txt-file and automate the opening and separating..
The second FAQ I linked in my last post works with txt-archives, too:
It asks for the separator first (because it can be , or ; depending on your language/region settings in Windows) and then separates each line into a row with one value in each the columns.
