Are the upload/download operation logged into the CPU?

fabiospark Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi everybody, does a CPU record a log of all the changes made to the software in his memory? I mean, if I don't protect a CPU application and the customer apply some changes to the software, will the CPU record time ad date of when the editing happened? And also which blocks got edited? If yes, with absolute tima and date so that I will be able to "read" into the CPU and see that somebody changed the software at a certain date? Where? Thanks. fabio

You can do an offline/online compare and check time stamps. Check this: Why are blocks marked differently in the STEP 7 (TIA Portal) Online View although they are identical? Regards, Towome

fabiospark Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Unfortunately I can't because in the meantime I upgraded to TIA 13 sp1 while the project was developed with just the 13 and I know I will have to upload the converted project before I can perform a check. But I'm also interested as general knowledge if such a log exists in the CPU, at least with recorded date and time of access with a programming device. Thanks.

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 10/7/2024 Posts: 15270 Rating: (2425)	If you open a V13 project in V13 SP1 and DO NOT convert to SP1, you should be able to go online with that project and see any differences. The PLC has the compile date/time of every block as does the project on your PC. Portal will compare them and even if they are identical functionally and visually, if the customer changed something and then changed it back before your arrival and didn't simply download the original project back into the plc, you will see where they changed things. Of course, when you do an online compare with your PC file with the online plc, you can see what they have changed as well. The diagnostic buffer does show when the plc was stopped and started. fabiospark Thanks everybody.
