Only official advice on that subject that I'm aware of is the one that was part of the first (dated Feb. 2013) S7-1500 Delivery release where it states that: The new S7-1500 system supplements the existing S7-300/400 systems. S7-300, S7-400 and S7-1500 will be sold in parallel in the coming years. The S7-300/400 systems will not be phased out before the year 2020. Thereafter the components of both systems will be available for another 10 years on a spare part basis. While it does not say that 300's or 400's will receive their phase out announcement in 2020, I personally do at least expect this to be the case for 300's (their time is up as far as I'm concerned and 1500's can do everything they ever could and more). Only time will tell and Process Industry related 400's (e.g. PCS7, F/H 400 systems) are still a special beast in all of this and fight the phase out rumors with "Long-term security of investment in process automation" press releases. |
