Are Unified Panel compatible with TIA V16?

Hi,

I'm trying to add a Unified Panel MTP700 ( 6AV2128-3GB06-0AX1 ) to a TIA V16 project but in the hardware selection there are is no section for the Unified Panel.

I tried to Update Tia Portal V16 with the Upd06 but it seems it's already installed.

PS: I have previously used this type of panel in TIA V18

Did you install the "Wincc Unified" module? That is not the same as the "Wincc" module that is installed by default. That is probably the problem you are facing.

With the Unified software installed, you will have the other HMI options.

Keep in mind that the functionality of Wincc Unified has seen an upgrade with every version. You may still consider making your design with V18. You can keep the PLC design in another version but you will need to make a proxy device that can be a stand-in in the HMI project.

I'm interested in the solution you proposed by using TIA V18: is there any guide I can look in to to find more about it?

I am not sure what you mean by "older model". Perhaps it is worth mentioning that the firmware can be downgraded.

But first study the concepts explained in the FAQ (link follows). It is not written for Wincc Unified but I cannot see that you will have any problems to follow the same concept.

Do make 100% sure you have the latest update for V18 to get the maximum stability -- if you decide to use V18.
