ASI addressing help

adeguest Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hope somebody can help with a problem I have with a leuze asi compact light beam, we have had one fail and did not have a replacement so I removed the light beam out of the asi mon software we use running on a leuze asm safety monitor connected to a Siemens step 7 300 plc asi module cp 342-2 master re taught the code sequence on the asm and all nice and happy ,we then received new light beam I addressed the beam using a leuze hand help programmer, connected it to the system reloaded the program into asm monitor with the light beam address in it but when trying to teach the code sequence it cannot find the address any ideas would be grateful .

Remove the bad mushroom first. The go to each monitor on that bus that uses the mushroom and press the service buttons. They will go into another mode. Do not pre address the mushroom in this case. Leave it as default address 0. Install the new mushroom. Then go back and press the monitor service buttons again. They will autodetect the button and should restart and be back inoperating mode. Now if this does not work, you can pre address the new mushroom to the same address as the old one. Then do the procedure as done above. The other option is to pre address the mushroom and break out the laptop and reteach the safe code sequence again after installing the new mushroom. Let me know what works. And if you are using a computer, what version of asimon are you using now? Version 3 is the latest.

adeguest Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	thanks for the reply have tried all that you mentioned still no luck,latest info from leuze is asi profile may have to be changed in the master because i think they have changed some hardware in the light beam trouble is nobody seems to know how to do this ,hoping leuze is going to come up trumps not holding my breath lol,any other info you have would be great thanks again ade

I can do fairly basic program changes with S7 adding in new networks, field devices etc. However I have never added an additonal field device such as a photo cell into an exisiting Asi network. We have two machines which ahve a combinmation of standards digital IO and some ASi IO. I would appreciate if you could either offer advice or point me in the direction of suitable manuals. Thanks Steven
