Assign name to profinet IO node

What I'm after here is a simple way to replace a faulty inverter for examplewith a new one. Based on ip address or node number assign a name. A value settable from the inverter itself. //Joakim

If not, maybe check with your distributor or check the FAQ: Which PROFINET nodes support automatic commissioning and the replace device without interchangeable medium function? Using this feature would solve your issue. Sadly is a direct write request to store the Device name to "some" device over Ethernet MAC not known to me. To do so you wither need STEP7 or the PST Tool.
