Attach symbols to simatic net

El Kret Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Dear all I have a project that use S7-300 CPU as field controller and SIMATIC NET OPC as OPC server, all I need is to test the whole project offline before buying anything.I need just to insert the symbol table of the S7-300 station to the OPC offline i.e. (without real CPU), I tried many ways some of them were included in the following link (https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=17413251&caller=view ) but always there is error, so is it possible to read this symbols with the OPC with no CPU installed.

neo Posts: 264 Rating: (59)	Hello El Kret, Perhaps you have got Problems with your symbol files that are automatically importet into your pc station when downloading. You can check that with the Symbolic Configurator. Start->Simatic->Simatic Net-> Symbolic Configurator load the file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Siemens\SIMATIC.NET\opc2\binS7\symbolic\S7Symbols.sti should be automatically created by downloading or manually importing pc configuration file and test if all symbols are loaded, or if there´s an error.. best regards..
