Auto Gauge Control in Cold Rolling Mill

Dear Users;

I want to implement Auto Gauge Control in a Cold Rolling Mill with the help of the following formula :

Output Thickness = Entry Thickness * Entry Speed / Exit Speed

But I need a Help !

Suppose If , We put the fixed Entry Thickness from Scada and Entry Speed , Exit Speed from the Deflector Roll Encoders , then we will be getting the Output Thickness continuously while running the line as per the Entry Thickess entered and the running Entry and Exit Speed.

If Operator will be putting Desired Output Thickness too in Scada and based on this input and the the Output Thickness from the above mentioned Formula we will get the Error like :

Desired Output Thickness - Output Thickness = Error

and based on this error we will operate Screw Down operation.

My Doubt is this that :

Whether this formula is enough for Auto Gauge Control ? and this Output Thickess from the formula , Is this always right ?

If there is an 5 to 10 micron error in the Entry Thickess Side , whether it will effect our Auto Gauge System ?
