Hi, I'm a firsttime Simatic S7 user, and started with a CPU1214C +KPT400 Basic configuration. I am still struggling with some quite basic things that I know should be pretty basic and straightforward but that I can't seem to find in Help function and tutorials. 1st: I created a couple screens for the HMI that interact with the PLC program. After quite some getting used to, I'm finally starting to like it. I'm only using simple functions so far, but the program and screens do and show what I need. But every time the HMI powers up it shows a start screen, and I need to press 'start' to get to my default screen. How/where can I skip this step and force the HMI to start up with my default screen? 2nd: So far I navigate between different HMI screens by pushing screen buttons, but I would like to force a couple screens to pop up on an event in the PLC. Something like: 'screen 1 needs to appear when PLC input I0.1 is active' for instance. How/where can I set something like that? And, do I use the same thing to solve the 1st question? (Like call a screen on Firstscan or something like that) Thanks for helping a newbie, Regards, Erwin. |

Hello Erwin, Have a look at the following link to select a screen by using a PLC: how do you configure a screen change via the controller in WinCC (TIA Portal)? And an answer to your first question: Go to the the Runtime Settings of HMI. Here you can define "start screen" Best regards, Wizard

Hi,
Trigger screen change. See this thread: trigger KPT400 HMI screen |
- What you read here, please check with manuals and your requirements. |

I'm impressed! very fast replies, and to the point. Thanks! I have a rather new version of the KPT400, and the settings screen looks
different from the one shown in that manual, but I did find the
solution there. Thanks for the links for calling screens from the controller. I'll give that a try.
